Daddy : ” Isaac, whatcha doing?”
Isaac : “I’m just pookie.”
Daddy: “ummm, you’re WHAT?!?”
Isaac: “I’m just chillin. I’m just in my tent chillin. I’m chillin with my toy stories, and I’m singing, just chillin.”
Tom and I were talking & he came up with the brilliant idea that I should start a blog post at least once a week where other people can participate
and we share our kiddos funny quotes from the week!
Our Isaac says funny things DAILY, and we can’t wait until Nate starts talking to see all that he has to say!
Today Isaac’s Quote of the Day:
{we are trying to teach him to wipe when he poops, this is the result, lol}
First, I am going to be an AUNT very soon! And I am so very excited!!!! With that awesome job title comes the responsibility to be fun and creative and crafty (good thing I have practice being Mommy , lol)! I’m taking this new name seriously. And already spoiling my niece, Maggie.
Today I made some decorations for William & Beth’s (really Maggie’s) Baby Shower – the actual theme is still a surprise to them, but this sneak peek won’t give it away!
I had so much fun and it was SUPER duper easy!
Here’s my step-by-step guide to make Tissue Paper tassel garland
Not all of my tissue paper was the same length or width, depending on how you look at it, haha – but you don’t even notice (just means a couple of my tassels aren’t as “full” as the others – bet you’re trying to figure out which ones now!)
Choose your colors.
You’ll need:
Tissue paper
Ribbon or string
Clear tape
Scissors
Open up your tissue paper completely.
Fold It long ways – like a hot dog bun.
Cut it in half.
Fold It over several times (about 3-4), this makes cutting your tassels easier and quicker.
*make sure you are cutting from the open side – DO NOT CUT THE FOLDED END*
Cut up from the bottom, leaving about 2″ from the folded end.
(Sorry my picture turned, I’m posting this from my phone )
The width of your tassel pieces are up to you.
Unfold it.
Now, unfold it all the way and lay it completely flat.
Roll it up . Keeping the tassels straight as you go, so they’re not a hot mess. (Don’t want them to get super tangled & tear … it is tissue paper after all.)
Then it’ll look like bicycle handles 🙂
Now, twist the middle tight.
Like this.
Make a loop, and twist together.
Then put a piece of clear tape around the top (leaving a little loop) to hold it together.
Slide it on your ribbon! (You can cut the length of ribbon/string/yarn at any point.)
Tada! There you go! *you’ll have to spread them out once you hang your ribbon!*
Dear Maggie,
Little Princess, who has already stolen everyone’s hearts, I cannot wait to make lots of girly things for you and with you!
Love, your Aunt (who happens to have all boys 😉 & is super excited about all things girly that come with YOU.
Ps. Your cousins (who are very excited about your arrival) were playing super heroes & animals while I made these for you , don’t worry, they’ll teach you all about super heroes too! 😉
