Monsterific Day

Yesterday (thurs) was super rainy here so Isaac made cookies!!!!

I’m pretty sure he had the most fun just playing in the flour & sugar!

I scored getting this cookie set for 50% plus another 10% from my B&N membership 🙂 making it less than $5!! Turned out to be the perfect rainy day entertainment! (Everything we needed – except milk, water, butter, an egg, and 1/2 a cup of powdered sugar – all of which we already had at home)

After we baked the cookies – it was time to decorate them !!!! Super fun times!

Believe it or not they tasted pretty good, however most of them made it to the trash to be honest 😉 we’re trying to keep healthier foods in the house – so these cookies were more for just entertainment!! That, and I’m starting to bake & cook gluten & dairy free for Nate 🙂 I will try to remember to take pics as I do so that I can blog this new adventure of gluten & dairy free cooking & baking!

It’s a Toy Story-ific Day

Buzz & Woody have been MIA ALL WEEK! There have been meltdowns at every nap and bedtime, & some just out of the blue. It’s been a hard week for our Isaac! His friends were MISSING! (I had Jesse hidden for Christmas.) Hubby found a quick solution to ease Isaac’s sorrows, we told him Buzz & Woody were on a special mission to save Jesse – & it worked!
So, this morning Isaac & I found them!!!! Under a pile of toys! And so, guess who they “found” – JESSE!
Now, I have one HAPPY boy!!!
{if only Nate’s teeth would come in so I could have TWO happy happy happy boys!}

“You’re a stay-at-home mom? What do you DO all day?”

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

It’s happened twice in a week, and they were both women. Anyone ought to have more class than this, but women — especially women — should damn well know better.

Last week, I was at the pharmacy and a friendly lady approached me.

“Matt! How are those little ones doing?”

“Great! They’re doing very well, thanks for asking.”

“Good to hear. How ’bout your wife? Is she back at work yet?”

“Well she’s working hard at home, taking care of the kids. But she’s not going back into the workforce, if that’s what you mean.”

“Oh fun! That must be nice!”

“Fun? It’s a lot of hard work. Rewarding, yes. Fun? Not always.”

This one wasn’t in-your-face. It was only quietly presumptuous and subversively condescending.

The next incident occurred today at the coffee shop. It started in similar fashion; a friendly exchange about how things are coming along with the…
