Day 6 Focus: My Husband’s Health
Scripture: 3 John 1:2
Good Morning!!! It is so important for us to take care of our bodies!!!
1 Corinthians 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,
The main – and really only – reason we have for taking care of our body is just that, our bodies are temples for the Lord. We should want to make sure we are taking care of them and not being careless. Now, I am NOT talking about making your body an idol – to the point were it’s all that you think about and focus on and you go on diet after diet after diet. I am talking about genuinely taking care of yourself. That means knowing what we’re putting in and on our bodies. It all affects our health. Yep, even things you put topically on your skin – they have an impact on your overall health. (That’s why we use essential oils and have gotten rid of toxic products in our home. You can learn more about our lifestyle here.) Well, I didn’t mean to go off on that little talk, but maybe it was needed, and I could go soooo much more into it – we will save that for another post! Now on to our focus for today!!!! Praying for your husband’s health!
Let’s pray!! Heavenly Father, Thank you Lord for being the Example for our husbands to follow and to seek to strive to be more like You. God, if it’s in Your will, Lord, keep my husband healthy and free of illness. If he does suffer illness, Lord, I ask that he is able to find peace and joy in You still. Give my husband a desire to take care of himself physically, along with spiritually, Lord. Remind him that his body is a temple for you, God, that in taking care of himself he is giving You honor and praise. Father, if my husband is suffering in anyway, Lord, I ask right now that if it can be in Your will, that You heal him now. If there’s an area in his lifestyle that is unhealthy, God, show it to him and give him a desire to pursue a healthy lifestyle, provide him with the tools necessary. Help me to be an encouraging wife. If my husband seems to need more rest, help me to see, help me to make our home a resting place of comfort, relaxation, and rejuvenation for him. Help me to show him he is appreciated and respected. Help my husband’s health be a priority to me as well. Lord, thank you for all that you provide and care for us. We love you, Jesus. Amen
